The Library of Virginia, in Richmond is exhibiting "Through the Lens of Community," the work of the Columbia Pike Documentary Project, in a major exhibition from August 31, 2021 through January 8, 2022.
It is a beautifully installed presentation, and highlights the work of the entire team - Dewey Tron, Xang Mimi Ho, Lloyd Wolf, Lara Ajami, Sushmita Mazumdar, Moises Gomez, Paula Endo, and Aleksandra Lagkueva. It includes a timeline history of Columbia Pike, recipes from the Pike, plus seventy photographs and selected interview pieces. There is also an additional set of pictures on the second floor gallery highlighting the work we have done specifically documenting Prio Bangla.
It is well worth a visit.
Thanks to the staff at the Library, especially Dale Neighbors, Barbara Batson, and Ann Henderson for their expertise and support. Thanks also to David Bearinger of Virginia Humanities for putting us all in touch.
