Westmont Center demolition

The 1940's era Westmont Shopping Center at the corner of S. Glebe Road and Columbia Pike has been demolished.

A new retail and apartment complex, Westmont Apartments, will be erected on the site.

Paws on the Pike 2021

Paws on the Pike is sponsored annually by the Columbia Pike Revitalization (CPRO). It was held this year  at the plaza of Centro along the Pike. The day included a blessing of the pets by Arlington Presbyterian Church Pastor Ashley Goff, and pet portraits by Alex Sakes. Local pet-oriented vendors and representatives of local businesses and civic organizations were on site.

Thanks to the good folks at CPRO: executive director Kim Klingler, Amy McWilliams, Stephen Gregory Smith, and Amanda Lovins.

Arlington County Fair | Day 2

The Annual Arlington County Fair took place on the grounds of Thomas Jefferson Community Center, in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of the Columbia Pike corridor. A broad spectrum of our community came out to celebrate. Some Covid-19 safety restrictions were in place as safeguards.

Thanks to Barbi Broadus, Chair of the Arlington County Fair Board, for this opportunity. Thanks also to the wonderful performers of Arlington's Synetic Theater troupe.
