CPRO Annual Partners Meeting

The Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO) recently held its annual partners meeting at Ruthie's All Day restaurant. Executive director Kim Klingler and board president John Snyder presented the many activities and programs that CPRO worked on this past year, and discussed plans for the future.

Thanks to Kim, and CPRO staffers Amy McWilliams, Stephen Gregory Smith, and Amanda Lovins for their good work on behalf of our community.

Opening of the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington

The official opening of the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington was held recently in their new space at 2611 Columbia Pike, Arlington VA 22204.

Director Scott Taylor and numerous local citizens and elected officials were in attendance at the event which included a ribbon-cutting, along with Arlington NAACP president JD Spain, Arlington County Board members Takis Karantonis, Libby Garvey, Matt DeFerranti, Christian Dorsey, Katie Cristol, delegates and senators to the Virginia Assembly Alfonso Lopez, Barbara Favola, Patrick Hope, and others; civil rights heroine Freedom Rider Joan Trompauer Mulholland, Kim Klingler, CPRO executive director Kim Klingler and the entire CPRO staff, Craig Syphax, and many others.

Columbia Pike Branch Library | Re-opening

The remodeled Columbia Pike Branch Library was recently re-opened to the public with a day of ceremony, food, entertainment, and welcoming words from community leaders including head librarian Diane Kresh. The Arlington County Public Library system has opened several of the community libraries as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease.

The Columbia Pike Library is at 816 S. Walter Reed Drive, Arlington, VA 22204
