ECDC | 40th Anniversary gala and national conference

The Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC) held it's annual conference and fortieth anniversary gala celebration at the Sheraton hotel on Columbia Pike in Arlington.

Dr. Tsehaye Teferra
ECDC, originally founded to serve the growing needs of Ethiopian immigrants to the Washington DC area, has grown to be a major national refugee resettlement agency. This year participants from all over the United States came to learn, present, and share resources and strategies. There were large contingents of representatives of Afghan, Ukrainian, South Sudanese, Congolese, Syrian, Eritrean, Central American, and numerous other communities in attendance.

Entertainment at the gala was provided by Malian-born Cheick Hamala Diabate and the Griot Street Band.

Congratulations to Dr. Tsehaye Teferra and his colleagues on their work and achieving this milestone.

Special thanks to Lullit Paulos, Ezana Tefferra, Sarah Zullo, and Kidist Ebenezer of ECDC for their help and their confidence our documentation.
