La ColectiVA organized a cacerolazo (pots and pans rally) for an anti-ICE demonstration at Tyrol Hill Park, which proceeded through the very diverse Arlington Mill community and along Columbia Pike.
From La ColectiVA: We "demand Arlington County end collaboration with ICE. Through community organizing in Arlington, we have learned of multiple instances of migrant community members being criminalized and detained by Arlington County police agencies and then transferred to ICE custody for deportation proceedings. A fact sheet we released with NIP-NLG last month also shows the existing voluntary mechanisms that Arlington County police agencies use to maintain their roles in the incarceration to deportation pipeline. We demand the Arlington County board take immediate action to end all collaboration with ICE and to join us in calling on the Sheriff to do the same. "
