Recently there was a West Columbia Pike Walking Tour with Public Artist and Tour Guide Graham Coreil-Allen. Billed as a "guided tour to explore and reimagine the public spaces of Columbia Pike’s West End..." It started at Arlington Mill Plaza (S. Dinwiddie Street and Columbia Pike). "As one of the most diverse corridors in the country, Arlington, Virginia’s Columbia Pike in many ways represents the future of American culture and urbanism. On [the] Wandering the West Pike walking tour participants" learned "about how residents new and old are adapting suburban public spaces along Columbia Pike to meet their urban needs." It's purpose was "to explore and reimagine the public spaces of Columbia Pike’s West End," and to "learn about transportation improvements currently under construction" and to "imagine future public art projects taking place along the Pike, including [planned public sculpture] “The Pike” by Donald Lipski."
