The new Giant Food grocery store at Penrose Square regularly has excellent local bands perform in their cafe during shopping hours. Quite an unusual venue for music, but one that seemed to draw an appreciative audience.
Pictured are the noted ensemble, Jelly Roll Mortals, who performed originals and requests from the shoppers, who came in all sizes, ages, and shapes.
The Jelly Roll Mortals are: Scott McKnight, guitar; Arch Alcantera, guitar; Kentucky Jim Faris, bass; Steve Woerhle, drums; and Bill Williams, mandolin, ukelele, and guitar. All also perform vocals.
Note: the title, Giant Music, will be recognized by long-term Northern Virginia residents and music aficionados... from back in the day.
