Recipes for Recovery- book launch

 In collaboration with Columbia Pike Partnership, CPDP member artist Sushmita Mazumdar has authored a book, "Recipes for Recovery." The book launch was held April 14, 2023 at the Columbia Pike Library, and featured foods and stories created by the restaurant chefs along the Pike. Diverse international cuisines from 16 restaurants are highlighted.

"Columbia Pike Recipes for Recovery celebrates how food brought a community together during a time of need, keeping local restaurant owners in business and forging a path toward recovery. The Columbia Pike Partnership is proud to announce a new book commissioned from Arlington artist Sushmita Mazumdar. Sushmita has gathered stories from the 22204 zip code, known as the “world in a zip code,” to create a collection of unique and diverse experiences."

Memorial for Clovis Roca | Glencarlyn Park- Columbia Pike at South Four Mile Run Drive

This shrine in Glencarlyn Park, just off Columbia Pike, is in memory of Clovis Roca, who died in this area on December 9, 2022. 


May he rest in peace.

From an Arlington County Police Department report: The Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is investigating a suspicious death which occurred on the evening of December 9, 2022. At approximately 10:03 p.m., police were dispatched to Columbia Pike at S. Four Mile Run Drive for the report of trouble unknown. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male in the park. Medics performed lifesaving measures before transferring him to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. The circumstances that preceded the death remain under investigation.
