Political campaigning on the Pike - #2

There was a recent campaign kickoff event for Julius “JD” Spain, who has announced he is running for Arlington County Board to be the Democratic Party nominee.

Speakers and backers included local activists Janeth Valenzuela, Joan Mulholland, Wilma Jones, Susan Thompson-Gaines, Alex Sakes, Virginia Assembly Representative Adele McLure, Arlington Commonwealth Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti, and County Board member Takis Karantonis. The event was held at the award-winning Sabores Tapas Bar on the Pike.

Zuraya Tapia 

Candidate for Arlington County School board Zuraya Tapia held her campaign kickoff event at Cafe Sazon on Columbia Pike. An enthusiastic crowd of supporters listened as former School Board chair Dr. Emma Violand-Sanchez,  County Board member Takis Karantonis, Virginia State Assembly Delegate Alfonso Lopez, former County Board member Walter Tejada, and civic activists Janeth Valenzuela and Andres Tobar spoke in favor of her candidacy.
