Buchanan Gardens / Groundbreaking

The Buchanan Garden Apartments, one block off Columbia Pike in Arlington VA, are going to be renovated and reconfigured as affordable housing units. Residents will be able to move back in after the 15-month updating project, which is being managed by APAH, the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing.

These photographs, primarily of the residents and of partners facilitating the renovation, were made during APAH's recent groundbreaking ceremony.

Swapping Stories

A lively and well-attended storyswapping workshop, led by master storyteller Judy Klevens, was held at Arlington's Walter Reed Community Center. It was part of the Tell Arlington's Story initiative.

Thanks to Dulce Carrillo, Arlington County's Multicultural Marketing, Outreach and Advocacy Manager for facilitating this opportunity.
