Mr. Hossein Mohammed is pictured with his 3-year-old daughter Meryam.
Mr Mohammed has been in Arlington since 1999, coming from Nairobi Kenya, after fleeing the wars in Somalia. He returned to Africa to get married, and brought his wife and daughter to America about three years ago, in part so their child could get proper medical treatment. They also have an very young son. Mr. Mohammed, who has a gentle and serious manner, often works nights to support his family.
They live in the Columbia Grove Apartments, along the Columbia Pike corridor.
