Tsagaan Sar 2023- Mongolian New Year celebration

Mongolian Tsagaan Sar, the Lunar New Year Festival for the Year of the Rabbit, was celebrated in Arlington recently. Much of the large Mongolian community here lives along Columbia Pike.

The gathering featured Mongolian foods, dance, traditional wrestling (a national sport), costumes, games, artwork, music, pageantry, and episodes from Mongolian lore. Particular respect is paid to the elders of the community.
