The Harvey Hall Community Center, 850 South Greenbrier Street, just off Columbia Pike in Arlington, hosts a number of education, counseling, and empowerment activities, sponsored by Arlington County's Community Outreach Program.
This group of women meets weekly to create a variety of arts and crafts projects for themselves, their families, and as donations for the needy.
One group member, Mary Nablusi, a Christian of Syrian and South Sudanese heritage, also volunteers with the elderly residents of Harvey Hall. Ms. Nablusi speaks Arabic, Greek, Italian, English, and understands a bit of Spanish.
Thanks to Luz Stroh, the program director, for her help, and her years of effective committed, grassroots work.
