Equanimity Foundation program at the Career Center


Karen Isabel Guevara, president of the Equanimity Foundation, sponsored a program featuring a motivational speaker and a student/community art project at the Arlington Career Center. Motivational speaker Amanda Molina spoke of her rise to success through hard work in overcoming barriers that she faced, and renowned Latino artist Oscar Javier Gonzalez led the students in a hands-on art project featuring cultural imagery and personal expression. Margaret Chung, director of the Arlington  Career Center, introduced this well-attended program for the Career Center's diverse student body.

Pike Walk | Studio Pause

In conjunction with Studio Pause CPDP artist Sushmita Mazumdar,  CPDP's chief photographer Lloyd Wolf gave an artist's talk and led a guided walk along a colorful section of Columbia Pike, The focus was on the area's small businesses, Pike history, and the 60-acre Barcroft Apartments community.

Neighborhood backyard concert - Veronneau

Douglas Park resident (and bike activist) Henry Dunbar has been presenting a series of backyard concerts. This season's performance schedule was led off by the sophisticated and sultry jazz stylings of DC-based ensemble Veronneau.

A lovely way to spend a happy spring evening along the Pike corridor.

Columbia Hills community block party

The Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) held a spring festival block party for the residents of its Columbia Hills community on South Frederick Street, along the Columbia Pike corridor.
