"Corona in Aachens Partnerstädten"- at Centre Charlemagne

Aachen, Germany, one of Arlington's sister cities, is currently exhibiting work about how its several sister city partners have experienced the Covid-19 Pandemic. The work is being shown at the city's museum, the Centre Charlemagne

CPDP photographer Lloyd Wolf documented Arlington's experience along Columbia Pike, and his work has been shared in the galleries and in a catalog.

Vielen Dank to Frank Pohle of Centre Charlemagne for his vision and for including our Pike community's work as part of this meaningful show.

ECDC - Refugees First Thanksgiving Dinner 2022

The Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC) hosts an annual Refugees First Thanksgiving Dinner for new arrivals to our country. This was the first full such gathering since the Covid-19 pandemic began in 2020.

Several hundred people, including the refugee guests and many community volunteers, attended. The demand was so great that there were two full settings so that all who were hungry and wished to celebrate together could participate.

Most of the new families were from Afghanistan, plus a number also hailing from Congo, El Salvador, and war-torn Ukraine. All were made to feel welcome.

Greetings were made by ECDC director Dr. Tsehaye Teffera and Arlington County Board member Takis Krantonis. Entertainment was provided by a jazz musician and a Ukrainian singer

Thanks to Lullit Paulos, Dr. Teferra, and all the dedicated staff at ECDC for their important and kind work for our community.
