Changes - destruction and construction on the Pike
Much is about to change along Columbia Pike.
These photographs are of the demolition of the long-standing Navy Annex, near the far eastern end of Pike, plus early construction efforts of the pending Columbia Pike Town center at the intersection of Glebe Road and the Pike, and an announcement for "The Shell," an affordable housing complex that will be built and run by AHC. The latter will be on the site of the recently closed Shell gas station, adjacent to Harvey Hall.

Sculpture and park opening- Penrose Square
A new park and sculpture were unveiled to the public in the upscale Penrose Square development along Arlington's Columbia Pike.
The artist for the sculpture is Richard Deutsch; there is a "water feature"that is included as part of the park.
These images show the sculpture and environment, but mostly are focused on the folks who attended this rapidly developing area of the community.
